I’m Jackie Layton, I write cozy mysteries with Spunky Southern Sleuths. I’ve lived my entire life in the South. Kentucky then Georgia, back to Kentucky and now the coast of South Carolina.

As a child I loved to read and play with my dolls and Barbies. In high school I dreamed of writing stories, but I didn’t pursue the dream until my youngest son was in high school. One day it hit me I better learn how to write or it would never happen.

I enjoy exploring the Low Country of South Carolina so much I chose it for the location of the fictional town of Heyward Beach. I also have contracts for two more cozy mystery series. One is set in Texas and the other in Georgia.
